Dated 25-1-2012

The Andhra Pradesh State Government has declared that along with Muslims and Christians, Jains too will be considered as religious minorities in the state hereafter. This means that the Jains will have privileges like running educational institutions etc. for their community. As per the 2001 census, there are around 41,486 Jains in the state out of a total population of 7.6 crore which amounts to ...around 0.1 per cent. The minorities welfare department issued the orders on Tuesday declaring the Jain community as a religious minority in the state following a representation from the Shri Bharatvarshiya Digamber Jain (DS) Mahasabha. It was stated in the representation that as per Article 30 of the Indian Constitution, Jains can be declared as a minority based on religion and language. Reacting to this in 2007, the then minority affairs minister, Mr A. R. Antulay, had written to the former CM, Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy, informing him that a religious community, which was less than 0.5 per cent of the population, would definitely fall under the minority category and had to be notified by the state government as a religious minority. In July, 2010, the minority affairs ministry had confirmed that for the purpose of determining minority, the unit taken into consideration should be the state and not the country.

 Dear all,

Jain Festival Deepawali :

It is a very important day for the Jains. On this day, Kartika Krishna 14, (dawn of the amavasya) during the swati nakshatra, Lord Mahavira attained Nirvana -A state of absolute bliss. The Lord discarded the body and the bondage of all Karmas on that night, at Pavapuri and attained Mukti or deliverance.

According to tradition, the chief disciple of lord Mahavira, Gandhar Gautam Swami also attained complete knowledge (Kevalgyana) on this day, thus making Diwali one of the most important Jain festivals.

The Gods from all the four four Celestial illuminated Pavanagari by lamps to mark this occasion.

It is also the bigining of Jains New Year. Diwali is the festival of lights and celebration. Lightening of the lamps symbolises as lightening the lamp of knowledge /gyan. Lightening up a diya also means moving from darkness to light.

Since that time, Jains celebrate the famous festival of "Diwali" to worship the Jinendra (i.e. Lord Mahavira) on the occasion of his nirvana for attaining the Kevalgyana by Gandhar Gautam Swami Ji.

On this occasion On behalf of Jain pushp I wish all of you a very happy, prosperous and best of everything  Happy Deepawali.

May this Deepawali bring and shower peace, harmony, joy and happiness in your life.

Regards,

Dharma.

NATIONWIDE PROTEST

AGAINST DISHONOR OF JAIN MUNI

BY UP POLICE

Shocking news:

 Delhi

We are looking to organize nationwide movement on 19th May 2011 against the illegal detention of Jain Muni Shri Maitri Prabhsagarji, who was on his fast unto death against licenses to new slaughter houses in Uttar Pradesh. U.P. Govt disruped the movement by hook and crook and ordered the city police to arrest the Honourable Jain Monk on his 17th day of fast unto death at 2 am in deep night at Baraut.

Jain monks never use any vehicle and also do not walk from one location to other in the night but dispite knowing the fact UP police has shown disrespect to code of conduct to Jain Monks and picked him up in their Jeep in the night and sent him to an unkown place. This act of police is wholesome dishonour of Jain Tradition and Jainism at large. The UP Police has also stopped Munishri Chinmay sagarji who was on his way to meet Munishri Maitri Prabh sagarji.

U.P. Govt and U.P. Police has to apologize publicly for their misdeed. To achieve this, we would need support from every corner of nation.

There would be a big rally at Delhi  on 19th May 2011. You could do following activities at your places on this same day :

.     Organize rallies and gather maximum participation and approach collector/DM/SP and submit them protest letter with maximum signatures. (Please find the protest letter attached herewith)

.     Close your shops/factories/offices for 2-3 hrs to show protest and suppport for the movement.

.     Publish your protest activity in local newspaper and news channel; please let us know about your efforts @ pashuraksha@gmail.com.

.     Flood the email of CM of Uttar Pradesh: cmup@nic.in with protest letters/emails.

Let us make it very clear that we shall not take disregard of our Munis lightly. UP Govt. and UP Police has to make a public apology for the misdeed they have done.

Shocking news: UP Police has arrested , 108 shree  Muni Maitriprabh Sagar ji in deep night (11th -12th  night) at 2 am

108 shree  Muni Maitriprabh Sagar ji is  on 17th day of Aanshan fast without food and water in this  scorching hot weather. 108 shree  Muni Maitriprabh Sagar ji is fasting for the reason that new licenses have been issued for the slaughter houses.  Muni Maitriprabh Sagar ji was arrested by UP police at 2AM on the night of 11-12th May’2011 along with number of jain followers.  Utter pradesh Government did not permit shree108 Muni Shri Chinmaysagar ji [JUngle wale baba] – (Disciple of Acharya VidyaSagar ji) to Enter in Baraut City, Muni Shri Maitri sagar ji founded in Guru Teg bahadur Hospital, New Delhi.

There is no support  as such from any corner. Media is busy in covering political news. Jains do not have vote banks and political resources. We are busy in fighting either being Digambar, Swetamar & Terapanthi or on other pretext. There is no solidarity or Ekta.  No strong will to come forward to fight for a noble cause for which muni shree is fasting for the last 17 days.

Let us join hands to support and achieve our aim “Ahimsa Parmo Dharma” by spreading this news to all interested friends and relatives.

Dear friends,

Things to be learned from Japan from the recent calamity.

An 9.0 magnitude earthquake and a 10 meter high tsunami wave hit northeastern Japan at 2.46pm on Friday March 11. Thousands of people have  died and hundreds of thousands are affected. Thereafter the fears of a nuclear disaster have made the life hell for Japanese. In good days They help India in number of projects and some of these are still going on.

How they mange the things at this hour of disaster is a lesson for all of us. Some of the Qualities are as given below:

1.      THE CALM
Not a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief. Sorrow itself has been
elevated.
2.       THE DIGNITY
Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a rough word or a crude
gesture.
3.       THE ABILITY
The incredible architects, for instance. Buildings swayed but didn’t fall.
4.       THE GRACE
People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get
something.
5.       THE ORDER
No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the roads. Just
understanding.
6.       THE SACRIFICE
Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the N-reactors. How will
they ever be repaid?
7.       THE TENDERNESS
Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left alone. The strong cared
for the weak
8.      THE TRAINING
The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do. And they did
just that.
9.       THE MEDIA
They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters.
Only calm reportage.
10.   THE CONSCIENCE
When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves
and left quietly
